Direct Rovings consist of continuous filaments bonded into a single strand and wound onto a bobbin shape. 3B’s Direct Rovings are available in both corrosion resistant E-glass and R-glass formulations.

3B’s Direct Rovings are designed for excellent processability in composites technologies like:

  • filament winding
  • pultrusion
  • knitting & weaving
  • texturisation
  • Long Fibre Technologies (LFT)

Our high performance R-glass, HiPer-tex®, is designed for high load bearings thanks to its high stiffness and strength. HiPer-tex® also displays an improved thermal resistance over standard E type glass, and is corrosion as well as acid resistant.

Depending on the technology they are designed for, 3B’s Direct Rovings are  compatible with Thermoplastic or Thermoset resins as presented in our product portfolio below.
