Sr. Engineer / Dy. Manager / Manager - Utilities

Your mission

Reporting to the Dy. General Manager for Maintenance, ensure availability of all Utility equipment to run the process equipment of the Goa Glass Fibre Ltd.(GGFL)  plant seamlessly. Prepare project activities including drawings, schedules as inputs for implementation of new projects. 

Your profile

  • Education: Bachelor in Engineering or Bachelor in Technology (Mechanical) or preferably Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: 6-10 years for B Tech, 10-15 years for diploma in continuous process industry
  • Languages: English, Hindi, Konkani and Marathi
  •  You can demonstrate the following behavioural competencies: Collaborative, Lead by example, Communication, Effective learner, Conflict Management, Strategic thinking, Interpersonal skills

  • Oxygen plant operations, parameters, settings & process knowledge
  • P&ID knowledge
  • Power plant operations, parameters, settings & process knowledge
  • HSD/ HFO yard operations & process knowledge
  • Air compressor operations, parameters, settings & process knowledge
  • All cooling towers operations, parameters, settings & process knowledge
  • AC units operations, parameters & settings
  • HVAC operations, parameters, settings & process knowledge
  • Knowledge of WTP operations, parameters, settings & process knowledge
  • Knowledge of Fire hydrant system operation parameters & settings
  • Piping layout of HVAC, Air, Water, HFO, HSD, LPG, Oxygen & Natural Gas, ETP & STP
  • Knowledge of all Utility equipment
  • Knowledge of mobile equipment.
  • Knowledge of standards
  • Knowledge of Legal Applicability
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of PESO and storage
  • BOS Certification
  • Safety audit - internal auditor
  • Certified internal auditor for IMS

Your role and responsibilities

  • Ensure supply of the needed energy and all fluids, including water supply and take alternative steps whenever necessary.
  • Maintain all Utility equipment in good running condition. Set up preventive, proactive and corrective maintenance procedures and frequencies. Oxygen plant, Diesel generator, Fuel oil storage, Air compressor, cooling towers, HVAC, Chillers, WTP and Fire hydrant system area equipment maintenance. 
  • Plan and ensure to carry out the preventive, proactive and breakdown maintenance in time.  Maintain equipment’s downtime and maintenance record and ensure equipments availability.
  • Maintain all buildings, steel structures, road and lawn, compound wall, equipment foundation, construction of new or existing modification or extension of buildings.
  • Ensure potable water supply to all the domestic usage in plant and monitoring of PWD water supply for plant operation. Accountable for water consumption by Engineering dept like Cooling towers.
  • Execute new project jobs.
  • Attend to breakdowns in time, planning of spare parts, critical spare parts and manpower.
  • Plan and carry out modification jobs to improve the quality.
  • Maintain all IMS records and compliance. 
  • Maintain weekly, monthly reports, history cards, breakdown reports, predictive maintenance and PM records etc.
  • Take up Why Why, Kaizens, Poka Yoke,  FMEA, RCA & SWOT to align with departmental goals.
  • Assist for all new equipment inputs and implement new projects.
  • Keep equipment as per requirements of (Inspectorate of Factories and Boiler etc.) with related documents and keep ready for inspection.
  • Perform cost control on budget and inventory management.
  • Ensure tracking and compliance of statutory and stability of buildings.
  • Implement CAPEX and PIP plans.
  • Assist to prepare the procurement and consumption plan for utilities and civil section.
  • Propose and implement improvements programmes, particularly those related to equipment downtime decrease, reduction of his department costs, safety and environment respect.
  • Develop a team spirit, oriented toward continuous improvement, particularly those related to waste reduction, discipline following instructions and specifications, product quality, cost reduction. Promote communication and social dialog.
  • Ensure that all your team members have needed competencies for their job, and/or put in place with HR help personal development and training programmes to reach this goal.
  • Work in partnership with other GGFL functions
  • Maintain all plant equipment in good running condition, by implementing predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
  • Maintain 5S in all shops and equipment under your responsibility in good working, safe and clean conditions
  • Promote and get a safe environment in his department. Meet those objectives during the year.
  • Promote and get a strict respect of Indian laws, GGFL rules and instructions and ISO instructions.
  • Make sure persons and equipment under your responsibility are safe and secured.
